The South West Mining Subsidence Forum formed in 2017. It is a voluntary initiative by industry experts based in Cornwall and Devon, with the aim of promoting best practice in the assessment of mining related issues by engaging with regulators and other professionals as a single body.
Since formation, members have contributed to the CIRIA Abandoned Mine Workings Manual (C758D) and to Cornwall Council’s Planning Validation Guide, with regard to mining related ground instability risks.
